An internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional 设置. 实习生hips give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths; and give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent.

实习生 may be paid, unpaid, or a combination of the two and are typically appointed for no more than 一个 year. They may not perform bargaining unit work. 一名已步入社会的 may not be an intern.

Steps to Appoint an Unpaid Intern

  1. 完成 Intern 位置 Description [docx].
  2. Email the completed Intern 位置 Description Draft (Word doc) for University Personnel's 审查 up-volunteer-appointments@cheepezemail.com.
  3. Administrator should collect the intern’s CV, Resume or Work History.
  4. Inform intern if under 18 years of age, the following will be required attachments 到实习生表格:
    1. Signed* Work Permit [pdf].
      1. *Signed by the school the intern is currently attending.
    2. 志愿者 Release Form for Minors (Parental Consent form) [pdf].
  5. 完成 Intern Request Form [DocuSign].
  6. After review and approval from University Personnel, the intern appointment will be keyed into PeopleSoft.
  7. Administrator and Intern will receive approved 位置 Description through DocuSign 签署.
  8. After the signed 位置 Description is received, University Personnel will finalize the Intern Request Form.
